Basic X-Ray with Medical Office Procedures

Our Basic X-Ray with Medical Office Procedures program features two programs in one. The program starts with UMA's standard Basic X-Ray curriculum and adds extra training in clinical office procedures. It features a stimulating mix of classroom and laboratory training followed by an externship in a local healthcare facility. After earning your diploma from UMA, you'll be prepared to pursue two certifications: Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (State of Florida) and Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

Medical/Clinical Laboratory Assistant

UMA familiarizes students with performance of waived laboratory procedures, EKG procedures, blood collection procedures, equipment, collection and handling of specimens, safety and medical ethics, and anatomy/physiology, including medical terminology and training for Medical Manager. The curriculum prepares students for entry-level in-field employment.

Nursing Assistant

Training includes areas such as patient care, anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, equipment, safety and emergency procedures such as CPR and first aid. Upon graduation, students receive a Diploma and can sit for the National Nurse Aid Assessment Program Exam. This program is approved by the State Board of Nursing and prepares students to play a critical role in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and assisted-living facilities. Through classes and a hands-on clinical externship, students learn to respond to emergencies and provide day-to-day routine care.

Patient Care Technician

We train our students to work closely with doctors and nurses in a hospital setting. Students learn phlebotomy and advanced procedures like EKG, along with the day-to-day responsibility of monitoring patients' conditions, updating medical charts and communicating with hospital staff. Training covers primary hospital departments including pediatrics, intensive care, critical care and rehabilitation. The program also includes fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, equipment and safety. Students graduate with a Diploma and are ready to begin a medical career as a PCT in pre or post-operative care, pediatrics, or the ER.

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Our program teaches students how to complete, process and maintain the millions of health insurance claims that organizations and their patients file each year. Students learn the coding used to identify and label medical conditions and procedures and how to use medical billing software. UMA students graduate with a Diploma and are qualified to help ensure that insurance companies are billed and doctors and patients are appropriately reimbursed.

Pharmacy Technician

At Ultimate Medical Academy, Pharmacy Technician training is a stimulating mix of classroom and laboratory training followed by a hands-on externship in a real pharmacy, working with actual patients. You'll learn drug dosage and interaction, pharmacology, pharmacy law and more. Upon graduation, you'll receive a diploma and will be qualified to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT) national certification exams, which can increase your employment opportunities.

Phlebotomist

Our phlebotomists are trained to competently do draws in a medical office, clinic, laboratory, or hospital. They are familiar with blood collection procedures, the utilization of standard phlebotomy equipment, safety and medical ethics, and related medical terminology. The program includes a supervised internship at a local healthcare facility. Graduates are qualified to take the A.M.T. National Phlebotomy examination.
